Subject: Controversial title request
Hi, Melissa,
I wanted to let you know about a title request that was made several weeks ago (I catalogued the book yesterday), as the
subject matter is quite controversial, and I think there is a slight chance that someone may chal enge the presence of the
book in our col ection. The title of the book is The Abolition of Sex: How the "Transgender" Agenda Harms Women and
Girls by Kara Dansky. I fulfil ed the request because the subject matter represents a perspective about the transgender
rights conversation, and it is important to provide varying perspectives for social issues, problems, concerns, etc. However, I
do recognize that this perspective is controversial and may prove to be offensive to some (although I would argue a solid
library col ection should contain books that are offensive to some members of the public). Below is a link to a description of
the title from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Abolition-Sex-Transgender-Agenda-Harms/dp/1637582293/ref=sr_1_1?
keywords=the+abolition+of+sex&qid=1638368390&sr=8-1
Thanks,
Erin
