Subject: [External] Trans woman sent to men's prison

[External]

Good morning Troy,

I was wondering if you had time in the next couple weeks to talk about the =
recent law you passed and Robin Baughman, a trans woman who after 5 years a=
t the woman's prison was sent to Newport in October. During this time she h=
as been refused shaving products, been subject to forced strip searches by =
men correctional officers, has faced harassment from inmates and staff, and=
has been put in solitary confinement for over a week for refusing to room =
with a man, a common violent practice known as V-coding.

When the DOC was asked about this, they used the new law to argue Robin had=
actually asked to change prisons for her own "safety". This is deeply conc=
erning and I am planning to write about this horrible situation, and would =
love to hear your perspective.

Thank you,
Emily Rose
